First, a big THANK YOU for the many, many wonderful cards, letters, book ideas and photographs you, your classes, and your children have sent to me. There is nothing I enjoy more than reading the work of a student who has used one of my books or characters as a springboard for their own fantastic creation. BRAVO to you all! My scrapbooks are bursting at the seams!
As we gear up for fall, I thought it might be helpful to reflect on the past year, and to plant some seeds for the coming year, too.
I have been supremely fortunate to meet with so many inspiring educators, booksellers, librarians, parents, students, friends and lovers of literature. I'd like to share some of my own ideas for weaving my books into your curriculum, along with some ideas from classrooms I've visited as well.
